LEGAL IMMIGRATION CONTINUES
Batten down the hatches mate, it’s coming!
The mass exodus to Arizona and other Sun Belt states has begun again in earnest. And why not? If it were not for the Great Recession that we are currently passing through, Arizona, Nevada, and Florida would have a heck of a lot more folks than they do today. Or another way to put it, is that this recession actually benefited various states, which kept folks from moving. A recent USA Today article, (link below) suggests that since 2010, domestic migration has increased by 5%.

“Like Elavsky, Americans are once again setting their sights on their favorite Sun Belt places, like Florida, Arizona and Nevada,”
Millions of homeowners have, by one way or another solved their “home as anchor” problem and have sold their home – they’re moving on. New (or old) life goals are back on track. We do know for sure that there are millions of folks who just can’t move because of being underwater in their mortgages. As values have increased, homeowners opted to sell and move. As more people get freed up from their submerged mortgages, we will see more of that.
Add to that the fact that our Phoenix Metro area is #9 nationally for new job growth while unemployment continues its downward trajectory, folks will continue to escalate the legal immigration.
The sun seems to be shining brighter for Arizona these days. Now if that were only true with our professional sports teams☺
