Recent News Points to a Solid Market
Phoenix area real estate market watchers have become spoiled
The latest S&P / Case-Shiller® Home Price Index® report has been issued and covers sales closed between June and August. The changes since last month are:

2. Denver +0.88%
3. Dallas +0.76%
4. Chicago +0.69%
5. Detroit +0.59%
6. Phoenix +0.58%
7. Tampa +0.54%
8. New York +0.48%
9. Boston +0.41%
10. Miami +0.39%
11. Seattle +0.34%
12. San Diego +0.34%
13. Minneapolis +0.32%
14. Las Vegas +0.31%
15. Washington +0.23%
16. Atlanta +0.17%
17. Cleveland +0.14%
18. Los Angeles +0.10%

Many of the cities that look good on a year to year basis are looking much less good on a month to month basis. The annual change table is as follows:

Portland, Denver and Dallas are looking strong from both a short term and long term perspective. California seems to have slowed down a lot over the summer.
