We often report sales figures on a valley-wide basis because much of our sales research is delivered to us in that way. Today, we’re going to give you a micro approach based on sales of single family homes in various cities and how these cities are faring compared with one year ago. These sales figures represent ALL sales, not just the ones reported on the Multiple Listing Service (MLS).
Phoenix, of course far surpasses the number of sales (27,879) for any other city. Its sales rate rose 7.5%.
Mesa is next in line with 12,293 sales compared with 10,731 a year before. This is an impressive 14.6% sales increase.
Scottsdale followed in the number three spot with sales increasing 7.1% to 9543 compared with 8910 last year.
East Valley cities are reporting some healthy increases: Chandler has exploded with 7047 sales, which is an annual increase of 20.3%. The San Tan Valley rose 17.7%. (I hear it now, “where is San Tan Valley?”) San Tan Valley is now in the top ten of sales in all the Valley with 3339. In fact, Queen Creek rose 19% in sales.
I think the affordability of distance definitely helps sales strength. Buckeye, (some would say, East L.A.) on the west side had the highest sales increase of all cities with over 1000 sales. Buckeye increased 20.8% and is now in the top ten in annual sales. Casa Grande, (North Tucson) increased 17.3%. Oh, and by the way, if there are any of my readers looking for good deals, Casa Grande is the place to invest! Don’t say I didn’t tell you!
